CES 2009: Intel internet TV set-top-boxes
Filed under: Electronics

Intel is hoping to do their part to help personalize the TV, by developing a prototype device that will bring the Internet to the TV. Intel plan to show off a range of consumer electronic prototypes that run on “widgets,” or mini-applications.
These prototypes will help to complement your TV viewing by offering up information from the Internet; TV viewers will also be able to talk to friends in real time as well as buy products that have been advertised on TV from a range of online stores.
The new devices could include TVs as well as cable set-top boxes, we will get our first glimpse at the new devices at CES 2009. The International Consumer Electronics Show will be held between January 8 and 11 in Las Vegas.
