Sony PS3 Home: Are you happy to pay for extras?

It’s only been a few days since Sony PS3’s HOME was available to masses and errors are showing even before you get into the virtual world, although this is expected to some degree for a service in beta and the big interest in Home.
What makes Home even more accessible is the word “FREE”, not only is Playstation Home free but also is getting online with the PS3. This is very unlike Xbox 360’s Live where you have to pay to get online, which some people will not do.
When PS3 users complain that some extras in HOME have to be paid for we get a little confused, if you want your own private space like a club then you have to pay Sony a monthly fee. This seems fair enough as they give a lot more free than competitors and some money has to be made to pay for developing HOME.
Not everyone agrees here with some users saying “if you want to buy things for your own space you have to pay for them by the Playstation store which I think is stupid I thought it was a free service”.
Do you agree and would you pay for HOME extras?

Sony must think I’m a mug if they think i’m gonna pay for a piece of virtual furniture… Really where are they coming from… Up yours Sony!
Doesn’t sound “fair” to me. A one off fee would be ok but a monthly fee means rent - who in their right mind would rent from Sony.
i need someone to tell me if u can go anywhere els on the game rather then the home town centre cus iam geting board with the same place
Jesus Christ People! It’s not a fucking requirement, it’s optional, you mongs! You only pay monthly if you want to have a club, you don’t have to buy furniture, playing the minigames is free, walking around with people is free, owning your own space is free, making your character is free, get it through your incredibly thick skulls, the payment is completely up to you. They arent forcing you to do anything. God, it’s like talking to thick kids!
The great thing about home is its free, if you dont wanna use it you dont have to.
If you want to pay for virtual extras you can, but at least the actual service itself is free.
And dont forget this is only a beta, so will only get better as time goes on.
As I said “who in their right mind would rent from Sony.” You don’t have to do but I can’t see why any one would want to. I think that’s a fair enough comment.
“Sony must think I’m a mug if they think i’m gonna pay for a piece of virtual furniture… Really where are they coming from… Up yours Sony!”
I was talking more to this guy, but a little bit to you aswell. Im in a club, the guy owns it because he was part of the private BETA so its free….I think. I wouldn’t personally rent space from Sony, but I could see the attraction. It would make launching multiplayer games easier, having all your mates in one space. But you’re making it sound as if you have to rent the apartments/houses monthly. you don’t, i got the summerhouse for £3.99, at its mine forever now.
I think having to pay for stuff like furnature and homes is fine but paying a monthly fee just to have a virtual club is f%*king extreme I understand that they need to make back the money for developing home etc but they should find another way
As far as i’m concerned Sony have just wasted years of programming they could have spent bringing us some new game franchises, Home is a mess and i’ll certainly NOT be buying virtual furniture or clothes, i would most likely have bought the full price games they could have coded in the same time.
How have they wasted time?
The amount of people they have working for them could ensure that they have been doing games aswell as Home. Infamous for example, theyve had time to work on that, and it’s looking epic!
