No plans for PSP2 says Sony

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe president David Reeves has said that the company currently has ‘no plans for a PSP 2.’

It was thought that a successor to the PSP was in development but sadly it appears that it was just mere speculation and that Sony’s handheld will still be around for a while to come yet.

While the PSP continues to sell well in Japan, it seems due to a lack of software for the handheld in the US and EU have seen many gamers start to lose interest in their handhelds.

What do you think guys? Do you still play your PSP regularly? My PSP just collects dust at the moment, I think the last game I played on it was an imported version of DJ MAX portable 2 ages ago. Let us know what you think.

Why would they release a PSP2 when they seem to be endlessly revising the current model? Seriously though there’s no need for a PSP2 until just prior to the PS4 and PS3 tech can be squeezed into a handheld.

My PSP only gets some action when I’m on a long train journey or flight, which is exactly what I want a handheld for, not as my main gaming device.

I think the PSP2 will be released with the PS4 and have more relationship with the console than the PSP has today with the PS3.

Just how they promised an online community for the PS2 but did not deliver until the PS3.

If you know and understand how Sony’s functions, then you can be mad at them. I am not.
