Nintendo Wii Doubles Monthly Sales Over Year Before
By: Peter Chubb | December 12, 2008 | 1 CommentFor those of you who thought that Nintendo Wii sales were slowing down, then you are in for a shock. The games console has managed to sell 2.04 million units in November that is double the amount sold in the same period last year.
In November 2007, Nintendo Wii sales were 981,000. There had been predictions that the Wii would sell around 1.4 million units, so hitting over 2 million sales is a big shock. Nintendo Wii sales have even topped the formerly chart-dominating Nintendo DS, which sold 1.57 million units in November.
These sales figures are remarkable considering that we are meant to be in a recession, but that has not stopped consumers going out to get themselves the hottest console on the market. Newer and better games is one of the reasons why the Nintendo Wii has done so well, and the fact that it gets the whole family together, something that the Sony PS3 and the Xbox 360 does not.
