Handhelds continue to dominate in Japan

There seems to be a very strong following for the handheld consoles over in Japan. Maybe it’s part of the culture and a social trend over there or something. The latest figures have shown that the DSi and PSP make the headlines again.

The Nintendo DSi tops the list on 126,648 units sold, with Sony’s PSP some way behind on 54, 782. What’s even more interesting though is that the Sony PS3 and Xbox 360 are way down the list on 30,309 and 9,988 units respectively.

Are developers for the DSi and PSP bringing out some amazing secret games for handhelds over in Japan that no-one is telling us about? You can find the whole list of sales in the link below.
