David Ross, co-founder of Carphone Warehouse steps down from many jobs
By: Peter Chubb | December 11, 2008 | Leave a CommentCarphone Warehouse co-founder, David Ross has now resigned from another company board. This news comes after the fact that Ross was at the heart of a share misuse scandal. Big Yellow Group has accepted Ross’s offer to step down as a non-executive director.
Ross has offered to resign from his position on Monday, after is emerged that Big Yellow was one of a quartet of companies whose shares had been used for Ross’s own personal spending. This is now the fourth post that David Ross has lost this week, and it looks as though he could be dropped from a fifth.
David Ross owns almost 10 percent of the Big Yellow, and has been part of the board since 2000. Ross has an estimated fortune of £900m, which makes you wonder why Ross needed to borrow extra money from these companies.
