By: Alan Ng | December 11, 2008
ATI have released a very significant driver update for its Radeon series of graphics cards today. The update will unlock the GPGPU feature in your cards, and there is also a free application along with the update that will demonstrate how the new feature will work.
Basically unlocking the GPGPU in your relevant card could mean you benefit from up to a 17x increase in speed.
The 8.12 catalyst update also sees certain improvements and tweaks for a selected number of PC titles. Some of these include Call of Duty: World at War, Fallout 3 and Far Cry 2. Head to the website for a full list of titles which have been tweaked.
