Apple’s (AAPL) iPhone sales could rocket thanks to Walmart (WMT) stores

The new deal that Apple (AAPL) is entering into with Walmart (WMT) is big news and not for the $2 reduction in iPhone price but more for the amount of iPhone sales that could happen thanks to the partnership.

Gene Munster (Piper Jaffray analyst) posted a report today that Walmart could end up selling the same amount of iPhones in 2009 as Apple’s retail stores do.

Munster reports many predictions including some of Apple’s, he said that Apple will sell 45 million iPhones in 2009 and 4.5 million of these will be from Apple’s 208 retail stores. So is it hard to believe that Walmart could sell the same 4.5 million units from its 3,500 stores?

Now if the rumored $99 iPhone shows its head in 2009 then we could expect these figures to be easily achievable. Hit the read link for the full story or leave a comment with your thoughts on these figures.

Wal-Mart is the number one retailer in the world, this is the perfect store to sell anything. Sales will go through the roof. This is a great move by Apple.
