$99 iPhone is inevitable: Apple and Walmart won’t comment
Filed under: Cell Phone Information, Cell Phones

Just how did the $99 Walmart iPhone news start and how much of this should we believe? This is the question that after a little digging shows a really interesting story.
The Walmart iPhone news broke from Boy Genius Report thanks to some contacts they have at AT&T and many of their rumors seem to turn out very truth, although the $99 iPhone story has a different feel to it.
The iPhone will be sold on Walmart at discount, although that price cut is just $2 at $197 for an 8GB iPhone. The rumored 4GB iPhone is a completely different story that also came from Boy Genius Report and while they do not doubt its possibility, they are also not fully endorsing it.
One thing is for sure and that is a $99 iPhone is inevitable; it’s a shame that Apple and Walmart are following the normal “No comments on rumor policy”. You can read details on the iPhone / Wal-mart journey via CNN.

Sorry to burst your iBubble, but the $99 iPhone is not going to happen.
No reason to offer a cheaper iPhone. Apple’s “in” is that the iPhone will be available at Walmart, where the iPod has been offered for quite some time.
Betting against the iPhone is like trying to swim against a rip tide. The only people who’ve tried to do so are no longer around to tell their story.
