Apple iPhone 3G: In Walmart stores within 3 weeks

It’s now being confirmed that Walmart (NYSE:WMT) will follow in Best Buy’s (NYSE:BBY) footsteps by selling the Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone 3G and the price will be very good, although one option may lack a little size.

Five Wal-Mart store representatives have confirmed today by phone that the iPhone will be on sale by the end of December, and Analysts believe one model will be a 4GB version for only $99.

The world’s largest retailer is apparently training employees now and five California stores that were phoned all confirmed this and that there will be two models of iPhone on sale. Apple currently sells the cheapest iPhone at $199 and a more expensive one at $299, so a new version at $99 is a great deal for Walmart if it turns out to be true.

Currently Apple have given their usual “do not comment on rumor or speculation” when asked about Wal-Mart selling the iPhone. We will update you when we get official information or hit the read link for some more rumor.
