Latest Facebook Koobface Virus: Spawned by an earlier attack

If you’re a user of the popular Facebook networking site then you may have heard about the latest Koobface Facebook virus and the problems it’s causing via a link to a video that asks you to update and installs something nasty.

This latest attack is apparently thanks to malware remaining on users computers and now is striking again by asking Facebook users to click on either a shared video in the Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) Reader RSS feed aggregation site or uploaded to Google’s Picasa photo-sharing site.

The reason it’s very hard for Facebook to deal with this problem is because the malware is installed on user’s computers. This is another reason why many security firms say you should have more than one malware scanning software on your computer.

There are also worries that businesses with Facebook tie-ins could also be affected and thanks to the worm changing, it’s becoming difficult to fix. You can read the full story below by hitting the read link or leave comment if you have experienced this problem.

And at the bottom of the big story about a new malware virus is a paid add for anti-virus software.
    Coincidence?
Makes you wonder who is really behind these virus outbreaks doesn’t it?
