New BlackBerry Storm lacks cool factor of Apple iPhone
By: Peter Chubb | December 6, 2008 | 1 CommentWhen RIM first announced that they were to launch their first touchscreen Blackberry, people already started to compare it to the Apple iPhone before we even saw a photo of it. The handset in question was the BlackBerry Storm, and now that the phone has been on the market for a few weeks now, all are thinking the same thing, it lacks the cool factor of the iPhone 3G.
The Storm is the first touchscreen BlackBerry, but it differs from the cool smoothness of the iPhone which has pinch- zooming. The Storm system has a clickable screen, which acts like one being button and that is the phone’s one big problem. Many Storm users have complained that dirt is getting under the screen, as it has a huge gap around the outside edge.
Do not get us wrong, the BlackBerry Storm is stylish but is thicker than the iPhone, and it is that which lets it down. Do not think that it is all bad, yes the iPhone does look cooler, but it also lacks in many ways. Professionals do not like the Apple iPhone, as they offer limited enterprise-management tools, and they do not have the great security features that we have come to love from a BlackBerry.
