Rock Band 2 drum kit and the mystery port

Harmonix has announced that there will be a new accessory available for Rock Band 2. An extra port on the back of the drum kit have fuelled speculation over what it could be which has led to Harmonix to comment on it.

Previously they had told gamers that the spare port on the back of the drum kit was for a secondary kick pedal, but now they have confirmed that this isn’t the case and it will lead to something else.

Harmonix though are ‘not revealing the functionality for this input’ so we will just have to wait for official statements in the future. Personally I would like to see a keyboard accessory, but I’m not sure how they would accommodate a new instrument on the gameplay interface so we’ll have to see what happens.
