Phil Harrison says downloads are the future of gaming
Filed under: Gaming

Phil Harrison, now part of Infogrames, has spoken out about the future of gaming and how he believes that downloads will play a key role.
He thinks in the near future, going into a retail store and buying a disc version of a game will become non existence and that the next generation of young gamers will prefer a digital version of a game.
He continued to explain, ‘there’s a generation of kids being born today and probably already alive who I’m pretty confident will never buy a physical media product. ‘
Whether you believe his visions or not, he has never been one to hide his feelings away from the media. What do you think of his comments? Do you think downloads will be the future for us all, or do you think the disc is too important to just fade away and die?

I dont think cd’s will be a non existence anymore. For the fact! if you were to download a full game that would take forever! hours! 2.3gb’s of memory can take 15hours! a full game is like 6gb’s! no one would take 50hours to download a game! sales would drop on gaming big time.
