Facebook Connect: Why It looks like a winner

Facebook Connect has now launched Connect, their Web-wide sign-on system and the Washington Post has said that the new service certainly has potential, as it simplifies and enriches the social network site.

Facebook Connect allows users to use their Facebook ID and password to sign in to third-party sites, such as CBS, CNN, and CitySearch and Digg. It is much like OpenID, but has much greater potential of reaching a larger scale.

The new feature is very easy to use, Facebook users do not have to do any more work to find or make the new feature work. Facebook Connect is different to OpenID, as many people do not know about the latter, but the former has visibility on its side.

    Not shocking: Facebook wants even more control of its user’s data—not uncharted territory for this company—–in spite of being known, for its horrible record with poor customer service..
