Nintendo Wii The Competitor: Microsoft and Sony won’t admit it
By: Alan Ng | December 4, 2008 | Leave a CommentThere is an interesting article over at CNET sparking the debate whether the Nintendo Wii is a competitor to Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Sony’s Playstation 3.
I’m sure you will have your own opinions on Nintendo’s console, but the article highlights some of the ways in which the Wii is rarely mentioned in the same sentence as the other consoles, suggesting reasons that Nintendo’s console is doing much better than people actually realise.
With representatives from both Microsoft and Sony stating that they ‘do not’ see the Nintendo Wii as a direct competitor, you should read the whole article and make your own judgement on it though.
On a personal note, the Nintendo Wii just doesn’t do it for me at all. The Nintendo Wii is basically just more packaged for the young audience or family, and with the Xbox 360 and PS3 you get to play some real games and get more of a gaming experience out of it.
What do you think? Let us know your opinions on Nintendo’s console.
