New Nokia N97 vs Apple iPhone 3G

When a new cell phone comes on to the market, it is like a boxer eying up his opponent trying to size him up, that opponent is always the Apple iPhone 3G. So who is the new fighter who wants to take up the challenge to the iPhone, well that would be the new Nokia N97.

If anyone can take the crown from the iPhone 3G, then it just has to be from the biggest cell phone maker in the world. The N97 is a vast improvement over other N-Series handsets, if you don’t believe me, then let the specs speak for themselves.

The Nokia N97 has a 16:9 widescreen 3.5″ touch display with a full QWERTY keyboard, perfect as it is a mobile computer, 32 GB of on-board memory with support up to 48GB with a 16GB microSD card. The N97 also has a 5-Megapixel camera with high-quality Carl Zeiss optics, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, HSDPA and WLAN.

The Apple iPhone 3G also has a 3.5-inch widescreen Multi-Touch display, a choice between 8GB and 16GB, with no option to upgrade. The iPhone also looses out to the N97 in the camera department as well, as the handset only has a 2.0 megapixels camera. The iPhone also has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GSM/EDGE, and UMTS/HSDPA.

Well the Nokia N97 looks much better on paper than the Apple iPhone 3G, but is that enough to beat the iPhone in a straight fight?

Update: Sorry about the photo mix-up, all changed now

The N97 beats the iPhone in all hardware matters but…..the iPhone is older. I’m sure that Steve Jobs is holding a new iPhone behind the screens.
And as a iPhone user I’m really addicted to the great number of applications available in the iTunes store. Games, multmedia apps, utilities etc.,etc..
I son’t see those kind of apps on the Nokia’s
If Apple renewes their iPhone hardware i’ll keep the iPhone for sure.
If they will not within short notice I’ll keep the iPhone because of the apps I already use on it.
