Facebook Phishing Site: Google Chrome, Safari and Firefox Report

Now this is really interesting and quite worrying for some, how many of you love the words “Conspiracy Theory”? Yes there are many of you and this news about those trying to access Facebook using Google Chrome browser and seeing a warning that the social network may in fact be a phishing site.

According to TechCrunch they are reporting that you can still use the site, all you need to do is click the button to continue and of course you can go back to safety. Many of you may be ok, but then some of you this morning may be having problems.

We want to know if the same problem occurs when using Firefox like this blog says, because like TechCrunch we cannot see a problem, we do see it though when we visit http://fbcdn.net/, Twitter is also buzzing with those getting this notice as well.

TechCrunch have a couple more updates which include the domain fbcdn.net which is basically a domain which is registered by Facebook and you can clearly see (static.ak.fbcdn.net), they are also reporting that Safari is claiming that Facebook is a suspicious site, of course when requests are made on the social network.

Now after reading all the above many of you may believe that this is a Facebook problem and not a browser-related issue as well, phishing scams are pretty well known all over the web and of course many phishing scams have indeed targeted Facebook users in the past. What are your theories?
