Sony PS3 Firmware Update 2.53 gets Flash Player improvements

We reported last week that Sony PS3 Firmware Update 2.53 was coming soon, and we have more details on what the new update will have. Sony have said that they are improving the way that Flash Player works on the console, these improvements are a long time coming.

The Flash Player will now work much better with the Internet browser on the Sony PlayStation 3, meaning that you will now be able to access more sites that use Flash. Two other features that will be in Update 2.53 are Full-screen mode playability, and Live movie (using RTMP format) playability.

This means that we are now able to enjoy web content in full-screen. Readers on the PlayStation Blog seem happy about the Flash Player improvements, but they do hope that the update will help to improve the stability of the browser.
