Playstation 3 Update 2.53: Wish list for next firmware

The Sony PlayStation 3 Update 2.53 has now launched and although it is not the greatest firmware update, there a few good features that should keep users happy. The most notable of those features is full screen support added to Adobe Flash Player 9.
Other new features include Adobe Flash Player content support for the Internet browser, Sequential Playback, Divx VOD Registration Code, Power Save Settings, Nine Volume Output Levels, Trophies can now be synced with the server, and also the playback quality of certain PS3 format software has been improved.
Although these are not the best features that could have been updated in firmware 2.53, it does show that Sony are moving ever closer to making the PS3 the only piece of entertainment equipment that you need.

i want to acess the internet without quitting my game if i get stuck or something

i hope - sony is going to read this forum.
I do have a big wish list -cause there are so many things missing.
1. A good search-function for the file browser (audio, video and pictures)
2. Faster access by reading the directories, subdirectories and files - e.g. using cache for directory listing.
3. More working video codecs
4. 100% browsing -lots of pages are not working correctly.
5. A video-converter
6. Vrml and/or x3d capability
7. addable user content own build 3d objects in ps-home (would make the platform far more interesting. or - more better: a downloadable editor like in farcry
8. flash and animgif capabilities
9. lots of more visuals for audio-playback - the four ones get boring
10. Playlists - for external harddrives
… and much more…to get a true multimedia Center!

I do have a big list and i hope some of the developers of sony are gonna read this.
The PS3 is yet far away from a multimediacenter.
My wishes:
1. More working video codecs
2. A video converter
3. A faster directory and file browser (maybe using a cache?)
4. Possiblity to make playlist of external harddrive content
5. VRML and/or X3d - Browsing
6. Better flash and javascript support
7. 100% working internet explorer
8. User content in Home would make the platform much more interesting (building and sharing content…)
9. A Place-builder for home (like in Far Cry?)
10. More visuals for the audio player - the four ones are getting boring…(more better: user creatable visuals)
And and and …

I want Sony to release a update that will make the XMB much faster whilst in-game. Playing music in-game would also be much better and most of all we need a more interactive freinds list. Chatting with other people that are playing different games would be awsome and using voice mail instead of writing messages would be good. Sony also need to find a way of making the online faster, i mean its brilliant online but Xbox has much faster online.
MSN or other chat system would be good, there are a few things they could use for the PS3 that are also on the PSP such as, Online Radio and Go! Messenger. I would also like a update that would improve your wireless connection (not sure if you can do that) but my ps3 can sometimes lagg if my Comp is on and it gets very frustrating at times. I shouldnt have to be using wired connection all the time.
I would also like somethings on the PS3 that the PSP has like Online Radio and Go! Messenger or could use MSN. A better wireless connection would be way better (not sure if you can update that) but its annoying when i have my comp on Online can be laggy i shouldnt have to have a wired connection all the time.
1. in play chat parties
2.in game music
3. be able to look at ure friends, friend list
MKV support. Thats all i want
the ps3 should be able to play quicktime files. Also play music and games at the same time!!!!
i want to go on peoples party without being in the same game as them and play music at the same time as in game PLEASE !!!!!!!
and we should be able to buy things with trophies
