Playstation 3 Update 2.53: Wish list for next firmware

The Sony PlayStation 3 Update 2.53 has now launched and although it is not the greatest firmware update, there a few good features that should keep users happy. The most notable of those features is full screen support added to Adobe Flash Player 9.
Other new features include Adobe Flash Player content support for the Internet browser, Sequential Playback, Divx VOD Registration Code, Power Save Settings, Nine Volume Output Levels, Trophies can now be synced with the server, and also the playback quality of certain PS3 format software has been improved.
Although these are not the best features that could have been updated in firmware 2.53, it does show that Sony are moving ever closer to making the PS3 the only piece of entertainment equipment that you need.

1) Support for separate subtitle files

I would love for them to make the NTSC ps3 be able to play all the PAL singstar PS2 games
Um, the ONLY thing that is needed is custom soundtrack’s just like the Xbox 360. That is why I originally went 360 instead of PS3. I do prefer PS3 now I’m sure you all can guess why. But ya custom sound tracks is ALL. And to you ppl that think that it’s the game company’s that need to add the music, your wrong and right. Sony can make a firmware update to make the system do it. If the 360 can then I think the PS3 can not just the game supporting it.
i wish that ps3 would alow you to talk to friends whilst being online and on a different game, a bit like the xbox’s voice chat but better as xbox is shit unlike ps3. also i want games to come out on the ps3 that have 2 player campaigns. ty
you should be able to exit or cancel a firmware update while in the middle of it cus if it freezes in the middle then were scewed also maybe display what the error message is so that i we can troubleshoot prior to having to call u and be put on hold.
Restore SACD support please.
I would not mind that they put a chat log like msn and all that so u can talk to your ps3 friends and msn buddy’s or any other chat program u guys use and just talk to them wile playing a game
i would like to be able to get the internet radio, in the menu bar, beside home, and playstation store, that would be great.
more official background themes and hearing music through blutooth headphones
It would be nice to expand the video file capability to include iso, ifo, and vob files.
