Playstation 3 Update 2.53: Wish list for next firmware

The Sony PlayStation 3 Update 2.53 has now launched and although it is not the greatest firmware update, there a few good features that should keep users happy. The most notable of those features is full screen support added to Adobe Flash Player 9.
Other new features include Adobe Flash Player content support for the Internet browser, Sequential Playback, Divx VOD Registration Code, Power Save Settings, Nine Volume Output Levels, Trophies can now be synced with the server, and also the playback quality of certain PS3 format software has been improved.
Although these are not the best features that could have been updated in firmware 2.53, it does show that Sony are moving ever closer to making the PS3 the only piece of entertainment equipment that you need.

I do not think this update is very impressive, but that is only my opinion. I personally love my Playstaion 3 and i would love a Fairly decent update.
I would like them to add the option to organize your friends list. Just how we can organize Demos.
That would make life a little easier.

i would like to be able to listen to music while playing a game
1. Music in game would be the best (the xbox can, why not playstation)
2. Chat rooms in game so that players can be on different games but still talk (the xbox can, why not playstation)
3. And Please…don’t you think that it’s about time ‘Home’ was realised???
hi i would like SONY to update the PLAYSTATION 3 for the following :
Be able to listen to music while playing in game.
have a more interactive friends list.
I’d like to be able to read the whole messages when i receive them in a popup(the actual popup only shows the subject, that has a limited number of characters).
The other urgent need i support for .mkv container with separated subtitle file.
I need to fast forward and rewind my music at more speeds other than the one it currently has…I also want my music to play from where i left off……just like the psp…and what about the internet radio….we’ve been asking for this since it came on the psp….please please please
on the PS3, i want to have the option of signing in to the PS store, without appearing online to my friends.
Most times, i just want to browse the store without my friends bugging me. Take msn/yahoo msgnr for example…you get the option to appear offline/busy/away/online etc before you log on. can this be done too on PS3?
The idea from the guys above of organising your friend list is a great idea too!
i also want the PS Home to come asap.
BTW – is anyone finding this latest download taking AGES to finish or is it my connection?
