I am a computing professional - IT consultant to aerospace and banking. I know computers. I just bought the philips SPC230NC from Fred Meyers. Took it home, installed it, no audio. Went to their website, no support option. Used google strategically and found a support page. Went through their FAQ. No help there. Called. Got an American - hopeful. But he could not help me but to say reinstall the drivers.
Reinstalled drivers, misc errors.
Unplug, uninstall, take back to Fred Meyers.
Time required (wasted): 2 hours

I have purchased the Philips SPC230NC webcam, This is very lowest Quality, picture quality is very low , looks like old black & white movies, I suugest dont take if they give free also because, it’s waste your so much time.
