Blockbuster and Microsoft deliver mobile media content
By: Alan Ng | December 2, 2008 | Leave a CommentMovie rental giants Blockbuster are planning to team up with Microsoft in an attempt to deliver mobile media content to customers.
The company are hoping to be able to give customers mobile video access, and with Microsoft’s help they will be able to use Windows Mobile devices which will speed up the process even more.
Keith Morrow, chief information officer for Blockbuster has said that this technology will be able to reach airports where travellers could quickly download films from Blockbuster kiosks, straight to their mobile devices.
With Netflix recently joining forces with Microsoft, and now with Blockbuster wanting to jump on board as well, it seems as if we are entering a period where digital distribution of movies is going to become a very common thing. What are your views on this?
