Sales are expected to surge for retailer’s online stores, a direct result of Cyber Monday, and shoppers are certainly spending like mad but sales are still much lower than this time last year. Some of the top selling products that have been selling like mad are the Apple iPod, iPhone, and the Nintendo Wii.
Shop.org have reported that BIGresearch conducted a survey, and it reports that 84.6 million consumers will shop online at home and work on Cyber Monday, that is up from 72 million in 2007. That shows that although high street sales are lower, online sales are still very strong.
Tracking firm comScore reports that Black Friday online sales were only up by 1 percent to $534. Total sales for the first 28 days of November were down by 4 percent over the same period last year. Total web holiday sales were up 19 percent in 2007 over 2006, but 2008 figures looks all set to be flat.
