Xbox 360 Jasper has been found

There has been news that the ‘Jasper’ motherboards for the Xbox 360 are finally starting to become available to buy. Hopefully these new chips from Microsoft will put an end to all the hardware problems that gamers have been experiencing with their console.

Pictures over at Engadget show a 150W power supply, a manufacturing date of 2008-10-23 and a 0843X, leading to speculation that Jasper consoles are on the way to stores. These new chips are meant to reduce heat generated from the processors and they have a lower cost of production unlike its previous revisions.

We will have to keep an eye on the Jasper consoles as I’m sure many of you are wondering if this new chips will prevent RROD or similar problems, let’s hope so. If you would like to view some pictures from this story, follow the link below.

I got the Red ring of death on my 360 for the first time on Monday. and will be sending my 360 off for repairs next week, Is there a chance that Microsoft will put this new motherboard in my system, many of my friends say there motherboard was replaced when they sent theirs off for RRoD failures, some even got a whole new console.

    Email me your response plz

First, I’d like to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to the guy who was gracious enough to open up his new 360 and take pictures of the first jasper for us.For those who are skeptical…it’s absolutely true…Jasper is here baby!
I have followed “the great jasper hunt” since the beginning. What a pleasant thing to finally hear.It was spotted on Thanksgiving of all days. However,

JASPER MAY NOT gaurantee a permanent rrod fix.So all those itching to get one right now may be inclined to have just a month or two of patience until the jaspers are common enough on shelves and to see how they hold up to heavy use.I need to see some testing by actual gamers before I believe,Microsoft won’t ever give out accurate figures.Though it’s still possible that jasper could last years now instead of weeks and months like other versions.

My simpathies to all those who followed the jasper hunt with me for all these past months and gave in and bought an old system recently. They should’ve waited.Well, happy thanksgiving everyone, and let us all pray hard that we may now enjoy Gears and Halo forever and in peace. Big shoutout to the boys at seattlepi and anandtech who were a big help to me and others: 8Bit/Jasperhunter/knoxximus/ and others I cant recall.
