Apple iPhone 2.2 SDK and the hidden TV out features
Filed under: Cell Phone Information, Cell Phones

The recent Apple iPhone SDK had hidden TV out features, meaning that the MPTVOutWindow class will allow your iPhone to send video footage to a TV that is connected to the handset, rather than use the screen on the iPhone.
This new feature is intended to be used when watching movies, which is done by the unpublished class sending a live video feed through the iPhones connector port. For iPhone users to take advantage of this feature, you will need to purchase a video cable or an adaptor.
We have a video below showing this new 2.2 SDK and the hidden TV out feature in action. You will notice that the user is not using the screen on the Apple iPhone, because once connected the screen becomes blank. Do not worry about touching the screen, as all commands will be ignored.
