Well the day has finally come, yes that’s right Black Friday, but those sales will also stretch to Saturday and Sunday. According to the National Retail Federation, this weekend will see around 128 million Americans heading off to stores to grab themselves a bargain.
That figure is slightly lower than last year, but that was to be expected as these are tough economic times that we are in, and consumer confidence is still falling. Retailers hope that Black Friday will be able to lure people in to stores and spend some money, which will hopefully kick start the holiday shopping season.
The NRF believe that Black Friday 2008 will offer some of the best deals that we have seen in recent years, and will hopefully help kick retailers into profitability. Retailers hope that low sales was a result of shoppers holding off purchasing items as money is very tight, and that they have been waiting for Black Friday to bag themselves a bargain.
