Mitsubishi iMiEV Electric Car: Should they sell it?

Mitsubishi iMiEV Electric Car: Should they sell it?

The Mitsubishi iMiEV electric car might have made it stateside but it will never go on sale at the dealerships, anyway this badly named “Mitsubishi iMiEV” puts around 47 kW which is approx 64 horsepower which will make the 2,300-pound car do a little over the speed limit.

Personally at a quick glance I thought it was another Smartcar, the iMiEV’s 16-kWh lithium-ion battery will give you a range of about 70 miles which is pretty decent considering the average journey to work is not more than 40, but hold on you need to get back.

This Mitsubishi car is targeted for the Japanese market and will be under $30,000; this is pretty perfect for the city traffic lifestyle and must say the more I read about it the more it is appealing. For more in-depth information and of course many photos please visit Wired.

“might have made it stateside but it will never go on sale at the dealerships”?

And why might I ask will it not go on sale? I was planning on preordering in the spring. I think this is a good step in the right direction and as a Smart For Two owner, I would enjoy the increase in power, acceleration and the added room for two more lovely female passengers.

    “badly named”?

In this case the MiEV stands for Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle, and this one is was developed using the Mitsubishi i as a platform, thus Mitsubishi I-MiEV.
