PS3’s Little Big Planet: Drops to 19th on videogame charts

Despite all the praise lavished on Sony’s Little Big Planet recently, it has suffered a considerable drop in the latest video games sales.

Could we already be seeing people getting a bit bored with the adventures of Sackboy? The latest figures might indicate that as Little Big Planet has dropped from 4th position to 19th. Call of Duty : Wow is on top, with World Of Warcraft: WOTLK in 2nd and Football manager 2009 in 3rd.

A Sony spokesman was able to comment on this story, and he told Eurogamer, “In other times of the year [LBP] would be a clear number one, so you have to put the chart in context. This is an incredibly volatile time of year and the chart reflects that,”

Make of this what you want guys, but its a fact that the charts do not lie and LBP has taken quite a big drop in sales. What are your thoughts on this story? Leave your comments below.

My thoughts are, who cares? LBP is still a MUST HAVE game. If you don’t already have it, you’re missing out.

Getting bored with it? How can you explain the drop in sales as people getting “bored” with it….wouldn’t they have had to buy the game first to get bored with it, and if they already bought it, they certainly wouldn’t buy it again, which means those “bored” people have no influence whatsoever on the current sales of the game?

I don’t know this information, but doesn’t the amount sold before matter in this too? I mean, theoretically, every person with a ps3 could have bought the game in the first two weeks, and then there as no one left to buy it, so the game could drop off the charts (I doubt that happened, but it makes a point).

Or, people like me might not be able to drop another 60 bucks on another game right at this moment when a bunch of other good games just came out

that sony spokesperson is a joke, put it in context, he says if it were any other time of year it would be a clear number one. what a moron. If you cant figure out that this is the easiest time of year to sell games because of christmas, maybe you too can work for sony lmao. to put it in context, its not another time of the year and sonys system seller flopped, just like home. what a joke sony is becoming
