Facebook’s failed attempt to buy Twitter
By: Peter Chubb | November 25, 2008 | Leave a CommentFor those of you who thought that Black Friday was the only thing going on in the world, you would be mistaken. One of the biggest stories doing to rounds over in Silicon Valley is Facebook’s failed attempt to buy Twitter, for the massive sum of $500 million in stock.
Twitter has not gone through with the offer from FaceBook for a number of reasons, one being the valuation, which has been based on the $240 million that Microsoft had paid for a 1.6 percent share in the company, which was when the stock was doing well in the markets last year.
One of the main factors for Twitter denying the offer from FaceBook was the fact that the founders of Twitter have some unfinished business with the site, they believe that the sites full potential has not been met yet.
