If you have been waiting for Sony PS3 2.53 Firmware Update, then you had better mark down November 26, 2008 in diary. I must warn you though, do not get too excited as it is only a minor update, so none of the changes that we are hoping for.
Sony PlayStation 3 2.53 firmware update has full-screen mode for Adobe® Flash® Player content in the Internet browser. Another added feature is support for Adobe® Flash® Player 9, both of which are registered trademarks or trademarks of Adobe Systems.
It is thought that the new software update will feature a number of security patches, as well as a number of new and revised settings. Although this latest update does not offer as much as we hoped, all these little things are adding up, one day we might just get the Sony PS3 firmware update that we have all been waiting for.

Only if they opened up the gfxs card to linux. and or added XBMC to the system would it be a dream . and a supper console. if you dont know what XBMC is google it.. ported now to linux windows and mac. built for xbox1 as a hack/mod. then turned into the best media center ever
I think the movies or even some of the tv shows should be free in the playstation network. Even if it were just some not all of them.
Will it EVER recognize subtitles?
When I bought PS3, it didn’t mention it wouldn’t display subtitles embedded in the video files. So, making an upgrade is not because of Sony’s good intentions, is because they try to fix stuff that is not working. Adding ADDITIONAL stuff is because they try to get a bigger market share.
If they stop making upgrades, there is always XBOX.

Been watching Youtube full screen for months now….
hey sony can you create a ps3 update that can use msn because when i go on internet on ps3 it says to enable cookies but the system wont let me so when you make a new ps3 update make sure you add msn
Downloaded yesterday, now ps3 will not read any disk i try to play. If anyone has this problem, i suggest reading the sony ps3 support forums. It may cost 150$ to repair if your warranty is expired. Good luck to everyone who gets this update.
