BlackBerry Storm and hundreds at Verizon stores

Verizon Wireless stores were the place to be on Friday as hundreds of people were out queuing up to buy the BlackBerry Storm, RIMs newest touchscreen phone.

It wasn’t all peaceful either as reports suggested that 200 people had queued up outside a Verizon store in Manhattan in the early hours of the morning, only to be turned away at 9am as the stock had already ran out after an hour of opening, police had to be called to restore order.

Over in the UK, Vodafone said they were struggling to meet demand for the storm after literally thousands of customers had the phone on pre-order.
