Palm are now feeling the financial strain like so many other companies across the globe, as they have now announced that they are to make some job cuts. Palm have announced that they will have to cut 1050 jobs, not a nice prospect to face redundancy on the run-up to Christmas.
This news comes on the back of Palm share’s dropping by 21 percent just a couple of weeks ago. Analyst said that Palm now has to try and come up with some extra capital to turn them around, job cuts is the fastest way to do this.
Reuters has said that Palm have continually lost ground to the likes of RIM and Apple. In a time when many other phone makers are seeing sales figures drop, Apple has been helped by the ever popular iPhone 3G, and RIM with an ever increasing amount of BlackBerry handsets, including the Bold and Storm.
