Apple iPhone 2.2: Switch Off Automatic Spellcheck
By: Peter Chubb | November 24, 2008 | Leave a CommentFinally we are now able to switch off Automatic Spellcheck on our Apple iPhone, thanks to the 2.2 update we are now able to turn off this annoying feature if we choose. Now we can send texts with words that do not sound right, without the fear that the automatic spellcheck won’t correct it at the last minute.
Turning of this function is very simple, just go to settings, then general and keyboard. Once there you will be able to turn off auto correction. This is such a simple thing to do I know, but there have been many people who have just missed it.
For some having Automatic Spellcheck is very important, but in an age where we send text messages with abbreviated words, the auto correction can be a bit of a nuisance. Now you will be able to speed text without the worry of the iPhone changing the word to something different.
