Verizon BlackBerry Storm: iPhone rival selling more than G1
By: Peter Chubb | November 22, 2008 | 1 CommentRIM launched their latest Smartphone in the U.S. yesterday; the BlackBerry Storm is another handset being hailed as a rival to the iPhone. One thing is certain early sales shows that the Storm has gotten off to a much better start than the T-Mobile G1.
Mercury News reports that there were long lines at a number of Verizon Wireless stores, with some of those stores actually selling out of the BlackBerry Storm. Certain stores along the east coast had at least 150 shoppers queuing up to get their hands on the latest iPhone rival.
The T-Mobile G1 was the first handset to use the Google Android software, and was being hailed as a rival to the iPhone, and many assumed that sales would be huge. The G1 is a very capable phone, but it did not live up to all that hype. It shows that the BlackBerry Storm is more competition for the Apple iPhone than any other phone on the market that is evident in the marketing campaign.
