November 27, is a big day for people in the U.S. as it will be Thanksgiving Day, and sales of cranberries, stuffing and red wine is set to increase in sales, along with other traditional items for the holiday celebrations.
These increased sales means that consumers are spending money, some $46 million in fact on stuffing during thanksgiving week. Sales of cranberries will top $34 million, fresh and canned. It is expected that almost 14 million bottles of wine will be served at Thanksgiving celebrations.
$14 million worth of sweet potatoes and yams will also be sold. That’s not all; $16 million worth of egg nog will also be sold. This year’s Thanksgiving will be a little tougher due to the money problems that most people are suffering from. That is why this year there is a Back to basics theme for Thanksgiving celebrations.
