Microsoft has just launched its new NXE, giving Xbox 360 a lot of new graphical and visual additions to their dashboard. Upon installing NXE, you must create an avatar, and it immediately draws similar comparisons to Nintendo’s Miis.
IGN uk have posted a detailed article in which they compare both Nintendo’s and Microsoft’s avatars and sum up whether Microsoft’s new feature is as good as Nintendo Miis.
Both these features give you the opportunities to create a cartoon animated representation of yourself, and basically IGNs review ponders on which console offers the most realistic options for you, giving you an idea of all the sorts of tools and features you can use while creating.
If you are interested, read the full review below. Which do you prefer, Nintendo’s Miis or Microsoft’s NXE avatars?

I have a 360 and a Wii and I prefer my Mii to my avatar. Somehow, my Mii looks a lot more like me than my avatar does. My avatar is pretty graphically, but not as tweekable. I suppose that opinion may change depending on how many games come out with avatar support in the coming months. Also, it’s really nice seeing the Miis all my friends and family who’ve played on my Wii. My 360 avatar is very lonely all on his own. There’s no interaction with other avatars, all he does is nod his head as I ease the thumstick up and down as if acknowledging that Nintendo go there first. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, for now I’ll side with the innovators rather than the imitators.
I’ll have to agree with Rudeboy Stu. I remember making a sour face when 360’s Avatar creation popped up. The first thing out of my mouth was its the new Wii60.
Pretty much everyone in the room commented on how lame xbox had to be to copy Nintendo.
I like all my Mee’s & I’m sure I’ll like the 360 avatar when it becomes useful in real games.
But for now, I don’t see the point other than Xbox trying to snuff out Nintendo.
Weak and pathetic!
