Google Searchwiki is here: Will you use Search Wiki?
By: Peter Chubb | November 21, 2008 | 1 CommentWe have known for a while that Google Searchwiki was coming, but now it is finally here, but is it something that we will actually use. Google Search Wiki is a listing recommendation system, where user who are logged in can push results up, or even ban them from future listings.
You will only be able to ban them for yourself; everyone else will be able to see them come up in the Google Searchwiki results. Users can also leave a comment attached to the listing, allowing people to offer their opinion.
The Guardian has been studying Searchwiki and have asked “Have you used it yet? What do you think? Useful? Pointless?” The writer of the article said that he was undecided about the new service, saying that it is a very limited implementation. The article goes on to say that although it is not bad, the benefits are very limited.
