Windows Mobile 6.5: Microsoft not closing gap in Smartphone battle

Ever since we were welcomed with Google Android many thought that Microsoft not closing the gap in Smartphone battle was the main problem, well it seems that Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.5 troubles are not mainly to do with Google Android.

Google is basically another competitor but not Microsoft’s main rivals; Google is definitely one of the leaders in the strong market amongst other. It seems there are many parties involved including Apple for example, Apple has indeed raised the bar so to speak with its usability and quality of its devices, then we have BlackBerry who play a strong game in the smartphone world who aim their devices at business users.

Many thought Microsoft would close the gap in the smartphone world with its latest Windows Mobile 6.5, but Apple with is Mac and the all new HTC G1 with its Google Android and many others are stopping Microsoft in closing the gap. Microsoft has fallen and they have lost a lot of ground the last 18 months, is this down to user friendliness?

What about the likes of OEM who has put non-Microsoft software on Windows Mobile devices, you know like Opera web browser on the HTC Touch, there are so many factors here. Windows Mobile 6.5 which was recently announced is surely not strong enough to close the gap in the smartphone battle; another major question that needs to be answered has to be “Will Windows Mobile 7 save the day?

This article does nothing to engage interested but casual consumers on the topic other than to say avoid a product not even common knowledge (WM6.5) vs. those already available. Good waste of time, though.
