By: Peter Chubb | November 20, 2008 | Leave a CommentKoolu have announced that they are to start optimizing as well as supporting the Google Android platform on FreeRunner, the Openmoko’s Free and Open Source-based mobile phone. There is now a beta version of Koolu for Android, and should be available for download in the first week of December.
This will be one of several choices of the platform for use on Openmoko phones. The final release of the software will be available sometime in the first quarter of 2009. Koolu has said that they will offer support for developers and Value Added Resellers who wish to take advantage of the freedom offered by Open Source.
Koolu and Openmoko working together will help to address the US markets, SGD said. SDG have now been working with the Linux mobile market since 2001 in the US, and are happy to offer this kind of commitment.
