Linux-based Amazon Kindle Reader: Price problem
By: Daniel Chubb | November 20, 2008 | Leave a CommentNow there are many ways to come up with weighing out prices and to outweigh price costs and this one is by far in-depth. We are talking about the Linux-based Amazon Kindle Reader and indeed the price problem.
How do you really evaluate Amazon’s Kindle? Well to start of with the source shown below has a major problem with the current price which is $359, now the Kindle is impressive there is no denying that but many are stating that it may be a little pricey for mass consumer adoption. There are issues saying that it is based on Linux and that the device is a closed book.
Now would you ditch your real books for e-books some might ask? Does the Kindle become something better than read hard copy books? Many questions need answering here we believe, would you be satisfied to get instant downloadable books via Amazon Whispernet EVDO Sprint network and would this outweigh its costs?
Anyway you really need to visit ZDnet to look at the Kindlenomics; you will get to read about the mental exercise and to determine what they call “sweet spot” in price which might in fact be a large number of people who may start using e-books over real books.
