I just ordered one with a 25% off coupon. I included the 4 year warranty as I live on a small island in the Caribbean and can get it serviced in my house by a Dell tech from a neighboring island.
Between the warranty and the huge discount, this was a no brainer for me.
i7-955 Extreme factory OC’d to 3.73GHz
6GB Tri-Channel DDR3
SLi Dual GTX280 1024MB cards
4 year warranty and accidental damage coverage
A hair over $4k after the discount.
My first gaming box in 5 years, so I have 2+ years worth of titles to catch up on.
Caliban- where did you find a 25% off coupon for the 730x? I can find plenty for the 730, but none for the new model…
I came up with it in Google but it expired on December 1st.
I have also since decided to build my own box. Even after the 25% discount at Dell, for the same money I can build a three-way SLI (GTX 280) system with all top-of-the-line components (CPU, RAM, PSU, case, MB, etc) for the same money. Most all of the parts come with good warranties, though I still would like to have that great in-house deal. In the end, the price diff just wasn’t worth going with the Dell.

I too ordered one and it’s being delivered tomorrow. I also stumbled upon the 25% off coupon which saved me over $US 700.00
I got the i7 940 2.93Ghz
GTX280 1024mb graphics
300Gb Velocirapter 10,000 rpm drive
6Gb Triple Channel RAM
23″ HDMI 1080P widescreen (new model)
all under $US 3,000 including free shipping
Hey Eric where do you get that 25% off coupon?
I google everywhere and they are all expire.
Even ebay doesn’t have it.
If I can get my hand on it.
I’ll order a 730x
I am also looking into buying a Dell XPS730x but could not find a valid 25% coupon. So I started looking around for a cheaper options and found out the Dell is actually expensive even with the 25% discount compared to CyberpowerPC. However, with the 25% discount, Dell is cheaper than building your own with parts from Newegg or Frys. Here are the reasons why you can get a much better deal from CyberpowerPC.
1. Better choices for air-cooled and water cooling heatsink. Dell charges $600 for their proprietary water cooling.
2. Dell’s DDR3 memory are the slow 1066MHZ. Cyberpower offers the 1600 and 1800 MHZ ones (Corsair brand) at a cheaper price.
3. Dell does not have the triple-SLi option
4. Overpriced 10K RPM velociraptor drives. Fry’s has them on sale all the time for $229.
