Blizzard: Massive sales of World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King
By: Peter Chubb | November 20, 2008 | 1 CommentSeems like Blizzard Entertainment have something to celebrate, as their latest game World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King sold more than 2.8 million copies in its first 24 hours of release, as a result making it the fastest selling game for the PC of all time.
It was no surprise that this update was going to do well, as the previous record was held by another Blizzard title, World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. Those games managed to sell 2.4 million copies in its first 24 hours.
It seems that whatever Blizzard touch at the moment it turns to gold, and with Diablo 3 still in development, that is another title that should do very well. I’m sure that World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King will keep selling well this side of Christmas.
