The new Call of Duty: World at War game did not make it to the top spot of the PC game charts, but it certainly did for the Xbox 360 and the Sony PS3 charts. Gears of War was at No.1, but was knocked of the Xbox 360 charts.
Call Of Duty: World At War has already got off to a great start, with huge sales recorded. There were a few shocks in the Xbox 360 charts; the first was Activision’s Guitar Hero: World Tour climbing from nine to three.
The biggest shock though was the poor showing of Electronic Arts Mirror’s Edge, it had been hyped to be a huge game, but only managed to come in at No.9. Maybe over the next week, Mirror’s Edge will climb a few places.

Too many games coming out in such a short space of time. In a difficult economic climate, some great games are going to find themselves low down in the charts purely because we just cannot afford them all. WAW is a must buy, and Mirror’s Edge and LBP will become essential buys after the Holidays. I believe we’ll see a lot of climbers in the charts during January. Resistance 2 is the only game I will be buying between now and Christmas.
Also, PS3 needs a price cut, or at least a PS3 lite-style system to take the fight back to microsoft. MS is bragging about how well their cut price system is selling (although I would speculate that a certain % is just down to replacement 360’s for the RROD), it proves that despite the superior multi skilled gaming/blu ray box the PS3 is, the public just want a cheap system to play games on.
