Phone Evolution: LG, BlackBerry, Apple, Samsung, HTC
By: Peter Chubb | November 19, 2008 | Leave a CommentIf you were to go back just five years ago our cell phones were only capable of making calls and sending text messages. There were a few other features on our handsets, but they were still in their basic form. When it comes to technology evolution, cell phones are evolving faster than we ever imagined.
We have always known that computer technology moves at a fast rate, but the only thing that ever changes is the speed and efficiency of them. With a cell phone it is much different than that, yes phones are getting faster at their tasks, but it is all the features that they can do which keeps consumers amazed.
When it comes to phone brands there are just a handful that stand out above the rest. These include Apple, BlackBerry, HTC, LG, Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson. I have left out Motorola for a good reason, although they do produce great phones, they do not amaze us with technology packed features.
These seven phone manufactures certainly break the boundaries in the technology that they use. The phones that stand out above the rest from these phone makers are the Apple iPhone 3G, BlackBerry Bold, Curve and Storm, HTC T-Mobile G1 Google Android and Touch Pro, LG KP500 Cookie and Incite, Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, Samsung Behold T919 and the Eternity A867, i907 Epix and finally the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1.
Many of these phones share the same sort of technology, such as touchscreen, as well as Wi-Fi capabilities. Some go even further than that by offering up apps, the use of adding new applications to a phone will help the handset become far more than it ever was when you first removed it from the box.
