LG Incite Reviews: Where are they?

By: Daniel Chubb | November 19, 2008 | 5 Comments

Normally when we hear about a new phone from any brand it has already had a few hands-on views from some of the big review sites and we also give handsets a hands-on review from time to time, but where are the LG Incite reviews?

After spending around an hour today for reviews of the LG Incite we came up empty, no site online has a review of LG’s latest touch screen phone. Yes some claim to have reviews but all they have done is read out the specs and what they think about it.

That’s great, but it’s also just reading out the news and not a full review with tons of hands-on photos. The AT&T LG INCITE Smartphone looks great, so if you have bought this phone and have used it then please leave your thoughts in the comments.

If you know of any sites with real hands-on reviews then let us know.

I agree. What’s up with that? The very fact that your site, no disrespect, comes up as the first hit in Google when you search “LG Incite review” is a sign that there’s a problem.

pocketnow.com has at least 3 video reviews that are pretty nice- I thought.
1 box opening, 2 hardware tour, 3 software tour… something like that. I am getting this phone today, if there are no better reviews up in a week or so, I will post something on youtube that is easy to find.

LG Incite looks as good as it sounds: a sophisticated, sleek design, a crystal-clear 3-inch touch screen and a 3.0 megapixel camera and camcorder that enables consumers to send and enjoy memories at the touch of a button. Users have a choice of on-screen virtual keyboards — a full, QWERTY keyboard in landscape mode and a 20-key keyboard in portrait view — with haptic keys that provide vibration feedback. The Incite also offers users choice in terms of screen navigation by simply using their fingers to move through the Incite’s friendly user interface, the scroll button to the upper right of the screen or the included stylus. I went in to the AT&T Store and asked to get my hands on a working model and they were more than happy to oblige.

Frankly, after about 20 minutes playing with it, I don’t like it.

The screen seems very unresponsive. It’s almost like you have to touch the screen and hold it on what you want to select and then press down on it. Sometimes it will work, sometimes you have to do it again, and again. Very frustrating when you’re used to the Cingular 8125 which brings up what you press immediately. So does the EPIX, which I will probably be buying in a week or so.

The image looks great and so does the camera, but this does not make up for the devices lagginess.

Also, It comes with a stylus. But there is no area for it to be inserted into the phone. It is attached by a very thin, and I’m certain, easily breakable string to a little loop on the top right corner of the device.

All in all, I may go mess with the device some more to see if it was just that particular one I was using, But more than likely I will go with something else.
