Hewlett Packard: Number one in world computer sales
By: Peter Chubb | November 19, 2008 | Leave a CommentDespite a little setback a while ago where Hewlett Packard lost its lead as the number one computer company to Dell, HP is back. The company’s Q4 sales figures were leaked and it seems that sales are good for the short term.
In the fourth quarter of 2008, HP has collected $33.6 Billion, that’s up 19 percent from the same period last year. Once all the figures were adjusted for currency effects over the past year, HP have still seen a 16 percent increase in revenue.
In a time when other companies are struggling, it shows that consumers as well as corporate buyers are always looking for new computer systems. This has had an effect on HP shares, as they have now been trading at $1.03 per share.
