Ok, where’s the Dell SP2309W review? I can get this info off the Dell website!

Bought one of these, and so far have found it pretty awesome. Quality of picture is amazing.

Only draw back is not having one of the buttons to select the source. Rather you have to push one button, press another to scroll up, and then another to finally select the source. Would have been nice to have one of the buttons switch source.

So far, it has to be one of the best monitors I have seen, and am very impressed with it.

23″ vs 24″, saves one inch desk area.

Samsung 2343BW or Dell 2309W ? Both are 23″, 2048×1152, adjustable height, tilt etc
Dell has HDMI and USB ports, Web cam also - all which Samsung lack

Just ordered mine directly from Dell.

I brought mine on Jan 28th from http://www.pcbuyit.co.uk/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=&products_id=444 for £189. ex vat, I thought I had got a bargin but sadley I am still waiting for it to come, have now been told they will be in on the 11th Feb.

Fair enough have been told delivery charges will be returned and a discount on the monitor ( they already took the payment for it. but still realy annoyed with them.

ok we had some snow but the excuse about the container been put too high was just 1 too far.

I have one of these monitors, have looked at two, and both show a lighter screen at the bottom than at the top when displaying a blank screen. It’s not head position…..it’s there even with your eyes squared up to the screen. Just wondered if this is common to all these, or to all monitors in this price range. Everything else about the monitor is great and I am pleased with it, except for this one thing.
Thanks for your thoughts and experiences.

I bought one of these monitors around January 2009. I thought I got a good deal with a sale direct from Dell but I’m very disappointed, mostly with the viewing angle. As John Church above mentions, the colour and brightness changes dramatically from top to bottom. I also have a couple of dead pixels (to the side thankfully).I do a lot of graphics and photography work and this monitor is basically useless for that. Lots of bells and whistles for the money but a very average monitor. Photographers/graphic designers beware.

I have not hooked up mine yet but want to know, does anyone know if you can hook up a Wii game to this thing? If anyone knows, please detail steps. Real beginner here.

  8. Tony D. says:

Michael, I’ve ran into the same thing - darker on top than the bottom - it does seem to be affected a little bit by viewing angle though (I’ve determined this after a good bit of research). I have a stupid smudge between the outer glass and the inner pixel material so I’m going to have to get a new replacement from Dell. Perhaps they’ll send out a newer Rev. of this monitor without the dark/light issue? Maybe I’ll get lucky.

Other than that, it’s a really cool, vibrant monitor with super fast refresh rate - I used to get some tearing with my old 5 ms monitor but not anymore with this one (which is at 2ms response time). One weird but cool feature is that the buttons on the side to adjust things are motion sensitive so they light up in anticipation as your finger nears them. Very cool albeit mostly unimportant feature.
