Kodak suing Samsung and LG: infringement of digital camera patents

There is one thing that is consistent with business, and that is lawsuits. There is a flurry of lawsuits that have just come to light, with four companies being involved. The four companies are Kodak, Spansion, Samsung and LG.

So let us try to explain it all, Kodak are suing Samsung and LG for alleged infringement of digital camera patents, this relates to digital capture, data storage and compression. The lawsuit has asked for unspecified damages.

In both cases Kodak are seeking an injunction to stop LG and Samsung from imports and sales of the products. Samsung have said that they will “respond actively to these litigations.” Spansion are also looking to sue Samsung, and are asking for billions in damages, due to patent infringement of flash memory.
